GRCC noncredit workforce programs pumping millions into local economy

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Kent and Ottawa counties saw a $294 million economic impact from companies attracted to the area or that expanded, in part, because of training opportunities at Grand Rapids Community College, officials said Tuesday, Nov. 13.

Scanlan will lead piano teachers program

Mary Scanlan, retired Grand Rapids Community College professor of music, will present the program, Contributions of Women Composers to Piano Literature, to the Holland Piano Teachers Forum on Friday, Nov. 16. The meeting will take place 10 am. at First Reformed Church of Holland.

HICKORY — A year after vying against each other for the Western Piedmont Athletic Conference championship, three local athletes are set to try for something even better.
… Although they’ll have to do it without Sizemore, the team earned the No. 10 seed in the event and will open up against Grand Rapids Community College on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Charleston Civic Center in Charleston, West Virginia.
