Please welcome today’s guests for the African-American Male Achievement Conference

If you see any young guests on campus today, please make them feel welcome!

The fourth-annual African-American Male Achievement Conference is a day of inspiration, learning, sharing, and caring for male students in ninth through 12 grades, and it is happening TODAY in the ATC.

Rhondo Cooper, a social emotional consultant for GRPS, will be the keynote speaker. He specializes in uplifting African-American males and supporting fathers and developing youth programs, while focusing on resiliency, anger management, and other interpersonal and communications issues. He has more than 20 years of experience in youth development and is the immediate past director of GRCC’s Upward Bound program.

The conference is planned for 9:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. today in the Wisner-Botrall Applied Technology Center and the Gerald R. Ford Fieldhouse. It is a collaboration between Urban League of West Michigan, Grand Rapids Public Schools, GRCC, and Grand Valley State University.

The photo shows the GRCC gymnasium packed full of attendees who are all standing and looking at the camera with right fists raised in the air. The text at the top reads: "Thank you to all that attended the 2018 African American Male Achievement Conference." At the top left is the logo for the AAMAC with the words "We Are Kings" underneath it.
