The National Science Foundation recently released the new Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) competition. The REU program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the National Science Foundation including:
- Biological Sciences
- Computer and Information Science and Engineering
- Geosciences
- Mathematical and Physical Sciences
- Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences
The goal of the grant is to broaden participation in science, expand the number of high-quality research environments, and increase the numbers of women, underrepresented minorities, and persons with disabilities in research. The typical duration of an REU grant is three years and the typical funding amount is $80,000-$130,000 per year. The deadline is August 28, 2019.
