Ionia’s Hausserman finishes just outside of top 10 at state golf finals

June 13, 2019; The Daily News (Greenville)

IONIA — Ionia senior Tyler Hausserman, the school’s first regional golf champion, performed well at the Division 2 state finals at Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing on June 7-8, finishing three strokes away from clinching a top 10 finish.

… Hausserman will now take his golfing talents to Grand Rapids Community College, in which he signed a letter of intent to play with the Raiders on May 15.

There’s still time to sign up for the 2019 GRCC Summer Walking Challenge!

Lace up your walking shoes Raider Nation! Back by popular demand: It’s the GRCC Summer Walking Challenge!

Monday, June 24 — Friday, August 2, 2019

The 2019 planning team: Brian Beecher, Nicole Nyenhuis, Kurt Meinders, David Houseman, and Angela Salinas

Generously supported by various campus departments

We’ve “stepped it up” with TWO fun improvements this year:

The competition increases to SIX weeks! (Competition begins June 24 and ends August 2).

Location of the week: Each week (on a specific day and time) the Walking Challenge (WC) planning team will meet participants at a featured location within walking distance of Main Campus, WC participants can take a selfie at the designated location to claim their weekly prize! Can you go the distance?

Weekly locations will be announced via the Google Communities page that all WC participants will be invited to join.

As was the process last year, team members’ weekly total steps will be compiled for the entire team’s weekly average to determine who will take the lead each week. Competition is fierce — and friendly of course!

The WC is a great way to get out and enjoy the lovely summer weather, see various parts of downtown GR, and interact and engage with your fellow members of the GRCC family!

Team Captains: Gather your fellow colleagues and form a team (minimum of 4, maximum of 6 members; students are encouraged to participate too!)

Sign your team up online at www.grcc.edu/walk!

If you don’t have a team, but want to participate, fill out the opt in form and we’ll put you on a team with new GRCC friends! Simply go to www.grcc.edu/walk!

Definitely let anyone on the planning team know if you have any questions or need further information.
