3 candidates run for Second Ward commission seat in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Second Ward Commissioner Ruth Kelly is nearing the end of her final term and three candidates are vying to replace her on the Grand Rapids City Commission.

… Her (Milinda Ysasi) endorsements include current city commissioners Ruth Kelly, Senita Lenear and Kurt Reppart, at least seven former city commissioners, and current and former GRPS and Grand Rapids Community College board members.

Purchasing has recently competitively bid and awarded office supplies. We’re pleased to announce that Office Depot has been awarded this contract.

Within the last week, you should have received an email from Office Depot (if you are a current staff member who ordered supplies in our old system) with your login and password. Final provost sessions set for July 22

GRCC has selected four educators as finalists for the position of provost and executive vice president for academic and student affairs, with faculty and campus community sessions scheduled for each candidate.

Faculty presentations run 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with campus community sessions from 2:15-3:15 p.m.; both will be in the ATC auditorium.

Here is the schedule:

  • July 15 — Dr. Laurie Fathe.
  • July 16 — Dr. Jacqueline El-Sayed.
  • July 17 — Dr. Brian Knetl,
  • July 22 — Dr. Michael Vargo.
