CAP 3.2 Build an Inclusive Campus for All would like to invite you to attend our first Leadership and Engagement Fair.

The goal of this event is to increase awareness of committee work taking place on campus and provide all employees an opportunity to participate in important college-wide work.

GRCC Homecoming


Homecoming Week – Monday, October 21st – Thursday, October 24th

There are many activities planned throughout the whole week of Homecoming – and even prior to homecoming week – that employees, students, alumni and even families can get involved in. Come show your Raider Spirit and take part in one or all of the activities being planned!

Encouragement Bags –

At Fall Opening Day, all faculty and staff were asked to write encouraging notes to our students. We are making bags – Encouragement Bags – filled with healthy snacks, our encouraging notes, and information about homecoming. We are asking for help in a couple different ways for this project.

  • Filling Encouragement Bags –
    • Donate a healthy snack to Student Life and Conduct by Wednesday, October 16th. View the list of items needed.
    • Sign-Up to help pack the encouragement bags on Thursday, October 17th.
  • Distributing Encouragement Bags –
    • Sign-Up to help distribute encouragement bags to our students across campus on Monday, October 21st.

Office Decorating Contest –

Departments are encouraged to get into the Homecoming spirit by decorating their offices using the theme – GRCC Raider Pride and Spirit! Review guidelines, deadlines and rules, at this link.

  • Wednesday, October 16 by 5:00 p.m. – deadline to register online to be considered an official part of the contest.
  • Friday, October 18 at 8:00 a.m. – begin decorating
  • Monday, October 21 by 9:00 a.m. – final touches and decorating completed
  • Monday, October 21 (afternoon) – judging will take place
  • Tuesday, October 22 – winner announced
  • Grand Prize Winner receives bagels and coffee for their office!

Grants Department seeks focus-group volunteers

The Grants Department is looking for 8-10 GRCC faculty and staff volunteers to participate in a group discussion on how the department can best serve the GRCC community. The focus group will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be served. If you are interested in helping the Grants Department enhance the sponsored programs experience at GRCC, please email Lisa Dopke (ldopke@grcc.edu) or Kim Squiers (kimsquiers@grcc.edu). Volunteers do not need grant writing experience, but must be willing to participate for the full 90 minutes.

IIPD Grant Applications: Due on October 25 by 4:30 p.m.

The deadline for the submission of grant applications for the Instructional Improvement & Professional Development (IIPD) Grant program is 4:30 p.m. on October 25, 2019. Information about how to apply for an IIPD grant can be found on the Grants Department web page. Please note that applications must include a Dean’s Approval Form and a Department Head Approval Form, and a budget with documentation of costs. TRIO hosts summer research open house on Oct. 23

TRIO/Student Support Services is holding an open house to showcase summer research opportunities from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 23 in the Raider Grille.

Participating programs include:

  • Michigan Technological University’s Michigan College and University Partnership (MICUP).
  • the University of Michigan’s Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP).
  • the Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP).
  • Study Away program in the Netherlands.
