The week will feature (4) components:

  1. Campus-Wide Information Tables.

I will have information tables set up at several high traffic areas on campus.  These will start to be set up the week of October 14th.  Each table will include: trip-specific fliers, Discovery Week marketing fliers, a large promotional banner, and Study Away Informational Brochures.

  1. Open-House Information Sessions (Open-House Style).

We will offer Information Sessions M-Th in the open study space next to my office from 11:00am-1:00pm.  Each trip will be provided a resource table which will include: promotional stickers and buttons, your trip fliers, small flags, and a trip-specific banner.   Attendees will have an opportunity to interact with faculty leading trips, experiential learning staff, study away alumni, and more.

  1. Faculty Professional Development

Although the sessions are geared towards students I’m hoping faculty will also be curious.  On Friday, during this event, I will be coordinating (2) sessions for faculty.  The first session will be geared towards understanding the proposal and proposal process (11:00am-12:00) and the second session will be an opportunity to explore options with a third party provider (Witte Travel) (12:00-1:00, lunch included).  RSVP to mschavey@grcc.edu

  1. Study Away Discovery Drop-In’s

Students not available to attend a session will be able to come into the department and receive information during our office hours.  Drop-Ins will continue through the end of the semester and into the winter semester.
