GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — For second-year Michigan State University College of Human Medicine student Crystal Juarez, every day marks another step in realizing a dream she has had since she was a kid growing up in Grand Rapids.
… Her path to medical school began at Grand Rapids Community College. Through the school’s Early Assurance of Admission program, she was able to receive additional counseling and other services aimed at preparing her for her undergraduate degree at Grand Valley State University and now MSU’s School of Human Medicine.

New plans are in the works for Gun Lake Casino of Michigan. The facility has announced a $100 million expansion project that will bring new dining options to the property along with entertainment and gaming space. Preliminary site work has already begun, and the project should be completed by next summer.
… The announcement of the $100 million expansion comes just one month after Gun Lake Casino announced a partnership with Grand Rapids Community College to create a new Blackjack Dealer Academy. With the new academy, a learning opportunity for jobs available at the casino will be on offer.
