Starting next semester, Grand Rapids Community College is offering Saturday classes to make college more accessible, especially for learners trying to work around jobs and home responsibilities.

With many students needing to arrange schedules and appointments around work and family responsibilities, a $2.1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education will help Grand Rapids Community College tailor advising services to all students.

In Act II of “The Nutcracker Ballet,” the Prince whisks the slumbering Clara away to the Land of Sweets, where the Sugar Plum Fairy holds court in a magical land of make believe.

… To celebrate the season, culinary students at Grand Rapids Community College’s Secchia Institute for Culinary Education are creating a sugary wonderland filled with ballerinas in stained-glass sugar and bells made from blown sugar in DeVos Performance Hall in December.

… The French departments of Grand Rapids Community College and Grand Valley State University joined forced to organize the third edition of the Tournées Film Festival. At the downtown campuses of GRCC and GVSU, French films will be shown in the evenings of Nov. 15-16 and 22-23.  The festival is opening on Nov. 15 with the screening of the 2018 French film “Tazzeka” at GRCC ‘s Wisner-Bottrall Applied Technology Center Auditorium Room 168.

Nursing Department partners on suicide prevention conference

The Nursing Department has teamed up with West Michigan Survivors of Suicide on a conference.
