Kiara King said she “genuinely appreciated” how her school honored all seniors one recent early morning.

… “Yeah, it was simple, but it was the thought that counts,” said Kiara, who plans to attend Ferris State University or GRCC. “They know what us seniors are going through and wanted to do anything they could to make us feel better and give us hope about the situation as a whole.”

West Michigan mourns loss of Forest Hills Eastern assistant principal Tim Hollern

Mark Rasmussen coached Tim Hollern in junior varsity baseball and freshman basketball at Grand Rapids Catholic Central in the early 1990s.

… Rasmussen said Mr. Hollern was humble and had great people skills. Rasmussen, who is now an assistant baseball coach at Grand Rapids Community College, added that Mr. Hollern is one of the toughest kids he ever coached during his 30-year career.
