GRCC offers 10 free classes to build career skills

GRAND RAPIDS — While our time at home may have resulted in some improvement projects around the house, Grand Rapids Community College hopes people can build onto their skill set with free online classes.

A free jump start on college

Even as community college’s grapple with budget cuts, they’re ensuring their affordable educational opportunities continue in their communities. Many are offering some tuition-free online courses to help high schoolers get a jump start on their college education and to help people boost skills during the pandemic.

… These same free courses are being offered through several community colleges across the country, including Tennessee’s Nashville State Community College and Michigan’s Grand Rapids Community College.

Blackboard compliance training, SafeColleges, LinkedIn Learning options

SafeCollege Online Learning Accounts Now Available

Human Resources is offering employees a SafeCollege Online Learning account to participate in professional development remotely. Human Resources has used SafeColleges for the past couple of years for compliance and safety skills training for select employees and departments. We have recently acquired additional accounts we are offering to you! Some of the online learning sessions available in SafeColleges include topics on compliance, safety, communication skills, conflict management, etc. There are also several modules on the Coronavirus from CDC Guidelines on making and wearing masks to Disinfecting Workspaces.
