John Simons, who is a proud GRJC alum, has been an Engineering Assistant at GRCC for 6 years but wishes that he had started here years before!
John states that he has always felt appreciated by the people he has assisted by “doing a quick fix in a classroom so the class can continue, running the sound mixing console in the fieldhouse for many events, and setting up video and sound systems for many outside events, sometimes even in the snow.”
John’s retirement plans are “to do a lot of work on my 94-year-old house, painting, repairing old plaster, and many more, building hifi vacuum tube amplifiers, building hifi speaker systems, spending more quality time with my guitars, visiting my four granddaughters, and many road trips to visit friends and relatives when it is safe to do so.”
“My job at GRCC has been the best in my long AV career, I think we have the best team and best people here, I feel privileged to be able to work with them and will miss working on the Media Technologies team.”
Congratulations on your retirement John and a huge thank you from all of us for all your hard work and dedication to GRCC! We wish you all the best in your retirement!
