Antiracist Educator Summer Series features Dr. Paul Gorski

During the winter semester, Dr. Paul Gorski served as guest faculty for the 2021 Cultural Competence Institute, hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI).

In the opening session, Dr. Gorski provided CCI participants with a framework for using a critical lens to examine and shift ideological perspectives that threaten equity-centered progress. You can see a video clip of that segment.

Additional opportunities to engage with Dr. Gorski and his colleagues are available through the Antiracist Educator Summer Series.

Registration information for the series is available on Eventbrite.

Courageous Conversation to look at community policing

Join us for a Courageous Conversation on the topic of Community Policing: Bridging the Gap, provided by CAP 3.2.

As our community discusses how to begin taking action to bridge the gap between police officers and marginalized communities, this Courageous Conversation will provide a space to ask questions and discuss how community policing can assist in these efforts. We look forward to you being courageous and joining this conversation.

The discussion will be led by Grand Rapids Police Chief Eric Payne, GRCC Police Chief Rebecca Whitman and Jermaine Reese, director of GRCC’s Police and Corrections academies.
