Cruisin’ to the ATC – C2CSLA21 Orientation This Week

Parents and rising 10th-grade students arrive on campus today through Wednesday for Cruisin’ to College Summer Learning Academy ’21 orientation appointments at the ATC.

Funded by grants from the Doug & Maria DeVos Foundation and GEAR UP Wyoming, C2CSLA21 will help 80 students strengthen math skills in the mornings, engage them in career exploration activities at the MTEC on one afternoon, and then move them through the paces of a CLS 100 Introduction to College course on the other afternoon.

Students from GEAR UP Wyoming districts will be on campus Mondays and Wednesdays and from GRPS and East Kentwood on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Three field trips are planned for various Fridays.

Cruisin’ to College starts Monday, June 14, and runs through Thursday, August 5.

The First Lady and the national media won’t be on hand, but the second shot of the COVID-19 vaccine is just as important for the people who attended GRCC’s pop-up clinic last week.

Second doses of the shot will be available at Rite Aid on 2410 Burton St. SE, in Grand Rapids from noon to 6 p.m. on June 17.

Thank you for doing your part to help the GRCC community get beyond the pandemic!

Tech Tips: Computer reboot reminder

When is the last time you rebooted your computer? Not sure? We totally understand! It is very easy to get into a routine of putting your computer to sleep every day so you can keep things open that you are currently using. It makes the start of the next day feel productive by continuing where we left off. The truth is, we may actually be slowing ourselves down.

Rebooting makes our computer run more efficiently and it can also fix problems we may be encountering. Please take the time to restart your computer at least once a week which will save you time in the long run.
