Highlighting staff who help our students

Always remember, at GRCC, you are surrounded by people who want you to be successful and are ready to walk with you on your educational pathway. We are here to help!

Meet Hope Fillmore. Hope is the office manager and third-party contract coordinator for GRCC Student Financial Services – and a proud GRCC grad.

After attending GRCC, Hope earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Project Management and a certificate in Human Resources Management, from Ferris State University.

Hope was not sure what career path she wanted to follow when she graduated high school. She attended GRCC to get an idea of what she wanted to do.

Once she’d been here for a year she discovered the many different programs and academic pathways the college offers. She credits the flexibility and continuous support from faculty and staff for helping her decide to stay at GRCC and earn her associate degree before transferring to Ferris.

In her current role at GRCC, Hope helps students with a number of things. She walks them through the tuition/fee refund appeal process. And she applies Michigan Education Trust funds, employer’s tuition assistance vouchers, and veterans benefits to student accounts.

Being a GRCC alumna who’s recently graduated has given Hope a first-person student perspective, so she understands what students are going through and is here to help!

The Student Financial Services office is temporarily located on the third floor of the Student Center while Raleigh J. Finkelstein Hall is being renovated. You can connect with the team there via email at cashier@grcc.edu and phone at (616) 234-4020.
