Thor’s Hammer is a hit!

M-TEC and GEAR UP Wyoming staff welcomed families to the Mobile Manufacturing Lab during Family STEM Night, Wednesday, September 29, at Godwin Heights High School. Students and parents learned about GRCC’s manufacturing and applied technology career pathways while hoisting Thor’s Hammer and sparring with light sabers. Godwin Heights marked the last of four September MML career exploration visits to Wyoming district high schools served by the GEAR UP Wyoming grant.

Starting its fourth year today, GEAR UP Wyoming provides academic enrichment, college prep, and career exploration activities to the Class of 2024 at Wyoming, Godfrey Lee, Godwin Heights, and Kelloggsville. The grant also offers professional development opportunities to districts math teachers and counselors and helps parents increase their college prep knowledge.
