The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is accepting applications for Institutes for Higher Education Faculty. NEH Institutes are professional development programs that convene higher education faculty from across the nation to deepen and enrich their understanding of a variety of topics in the humanities and enrich their capacity for effective scholarship and teaching.
Institutes allow immersive study of humanities topics, foster new fields of study, revitalize existing areas of inquiry, reinvigorate teaching in the classroom, and encourage intellectual and professional collaboration.
Applicants are required to introduce the subject to be studied, explain its intellectual significance, outline the questions and themes around the topic, and explain how they support scholarship and teaching.
The period of performance is 15 to 24 months with funding up to $235,000. The deadline to submit proposals is February 22, 2022.
