Chefs from around the area are learning how to set up kitchens and prepare meals as part of a relief effort during a crisis.
After making 510 ham and cheese sandwiches in under an hour on Monday, the chefs today are learning how to make large bins of paella – and are sharing their work with GRCC students and employees. Paella is a Spanish dish that includes rice and a wide variety of other ingredients mixed in.
The paella will be shared with the first 75 people at Art & Bev’s in the Wisner- Bottrall Applied Technology Center starting at 12:30 p.m.
The training is the result of a partnership with The City of Grand Rapids and the World Central Kitchen, which trains chefs around the world to prepare meals for responders and those affected by disasters.
