Wellness problems in your mouth can affect the rest of your body! But GRCC dental students and faculty can help you stay healthy and smiling with confidence!
GRCC is helping students and employees focus on all areas of health and wellness as we emerge together from the pandemic.
Wellness is a full integration of physical, mental and spiritual health. That includes physical health, but so much more. During the next year we’re also looking at emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, environmental and occupational health, and how we all can work to help ourselves and each other.
There are many resources at GRCC to help all of these types of wellness. Each week, we’ll introduce you to people and places here on campus ready to support you on your wellness journey.
GRCC’s Dental Clinic is available for students, employees and community members, located in room 308 of Cook Academic Hall.
The teaching clinic offers preventative services to the public, such as a review of medical and dental history, blood pressure screening, cleanings, preliminary dental hygiene exams, x-rays, fluoride treatments, dental health instruction, chemotherapeutic agents and sealants.
Appointments are usually 1.5-3 hours in length. Based on each patient’s dental hygiene needs, additional appointments may be necessary.
Students in the Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programs practice with each other as they prepare to help members of the GRCC family and community members.
Today’s Wellness Champions are students Ngoc Le, Natasa Savkic, and Stephanie Lothschultz, who are polishing the smile of classmate Danielle Bagin.
The dental clinic does not provide extractions, fillings or other restorative procedures.
The clinic is not able to bill insurance, but the costs are nominal. For example, an adult cleaning is $35, and $30 for children under 16. For GRCC employees and students, the cost is just $20. That includes a preliminary exam, cleaning, x-rays and a fluoride treatment.
Please call (616) 234-4237 to schedule a screening.
