GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Mention artificial intelligence and people might think of movies where software behind darkened computer screens take over for humans. But reality is not science fiction.
“(It’s) more about how can we create a vision system that can spot a defect on a production line,” said Grand Rapids Community College Professor Andrew Rozema, who runs the computer information systems program at the school.

Two partner organizations received a grant to expand food equity.
… Situated on 12 acres, with two houses and historic barns, one of Plainsong’s goals is to increase food equity for urban and rural low-income families in the greater Grand Rapids area. North Kent Connect in Rockford, Community Food Club in Grand Rapids and Grand Rapids Community College food pantry are some of the groups Plainsong works with to provide food.

MORLEY – Braelyn Berry was a complete athlete and demonstrated this on the volleyball and basketball courts and in track and field.
… She is also a four-time Pioneer Dream Player of the Year. Berry last year announced where she’ll be playing collegiately: Grand Rapids Community College.

… Linda Witte, program director and manager for Grand Rapids Community College’s Workforce Training health programs, has received a Pride of the Profession award from the American Medical Technologists association. The award honors members who have demonstrated commitment both to the profession and to service in their community. Witte manages GRCC’s medical assistant, certified nursing assistant, pharmacy technician and phlebotomy skills programs and is currently helping to develop the direct support professional program.
