Website updates to reflect the new ASA reorganization

As part of the Academic and Student Affairs reorganization, GRCC has updated its online presence to reflect changes in the following areas:

Technology Workshops for students

Help students navigate the technology they’ll need for classes! 

The Academic Support and Tutoring Services department is hosting workshops that will walk students through how to use their GRCC accounts and tech resources, including:

  • Student Email
  • Navigate
  • Remote Access to software
  • Usernames and Passwords
  • Blackboard
  • Online Student Center

Workshops will be held throughout September on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1–3 p.m.

Students can sign up on the Academic Support and Tutoring Services webpage.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Zuzu Nyson loves to sing. She grew up singing around her house to the likes of Aurora, Lana Del Rey, Roy Orbison, London Grammar and ABBA. She dreams of one day becoming a recording artist just like them.

… During the pandemic, she worked at a credit union and learned that she qualified for the Future For Frontliners program at Grand Rapids Community College. So, she enrolled and got her tuition completely covered.

 ‘I can’t express how wonderful this is’: eBay discovery leads to huge donation for West MI school

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — As staff prepared to bring kids back to Fruitport Community Schools, an unfortunate discovery was made inside a storage unit where classroom supplies were being kept  mice had chewed through the carpets. As if that wasn’t bad enough, dozens of tables had taken a beating through exposure to the elements, having been in storage for more than two years.

… As it turns out, the tables were coming from Grand Rapids Community College. The original asking price was $250 per table, or best offer. Once GRCC confirmed (Charlotte) Simpson was a local teacher paying out of pocket for her own classroom, they opted to donate all 73 tables.

Get ready for Involvement Day 2022: Sign up to table and meet students

Student Life will host Involvement Day 2022 on Wednesday, September 7 from 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on the Dr. Juan R. Olivarez Student Plaza.

This event is designed to pull together our campus student organizations, departments and programs as well as community organizations to build community and inspire involvement! 

We will provide tables and chairs as well as any other accommodations.
