Grand Rapids movie studio plans move to Walker industrial building

WALKER — A movie studio that formerly operated in downtown Grand Rapids is eyeing a larger industrial space in Walker to accommodate local filmmakers seeking to rent out production space.
… “I dropped out of Grand Rapids Community College after about three and a half weeks as a major in broadcasting,” (Josh) Sikkema said. “I didn’t have any resources and (there was) nowhere for me to shoot. The next best option for me was renting studios, but they are not affordable.”
John Gibbs: New Third District leans left, but it’s not unwinnable

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The new third congressional district in Michigan might lean slightly more Democrat after redistricting, but GOP candidate John Gibbs doesn’t see the new lines as impenetrable.
… The new 3rd District would also encompass Grand Valley State University and Grand Rapids Community College. While Gibbs wants to make college more affordable, he doesn’t agree with the Biden administration’s sweeping student debt relief.
