Faculty & Staff Forum Today (12/16/09)

Join the organizational development staff at 2pm today (Wednesday, 12/16) for the latest Faculty & Staff Forum in the ATC Banquet Rooms (122/124).  The OD dept. has two objectives and would appreciate the input of employees:

1. Review and provide input to our draft goals and objectives for the strategic plan revisions.
2. Begin our discussion around being “departments of distinction.”

The forum will last for an hour (and the OD dept. promises good snacks).

Faculty & Staff Forum: Human Capital Report (11/18/09)

Ever wonder about the demographics of our workforce? Would you like to see data regarding our recruitment processes and our GRCC workforce?

The upcoming Faculty & Staff Forum (scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, 2009 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.) will feature a presentation on the Human Capital at GRCC and how the college uses that data for decision-making. The Organizational Development (OD) department has identified the need for a more comprehensive approach to its human resource data to ensure that the College community has the data it needs.  This preview of the report will allow OD to collect the input of employees on what data is important for their decision-making.

Faculty & Staff Forum: 10/28/09

This month’s topic is “Leadership Development at GRCC – Options for Everyone.”  As GRCC enters a new and transformational era, leadership development is more important than ever. Learn about the array of options that faculty and staff have to develop leadership competencies. The inaugural offerings of the Leadership Coaching Institute and the Leaders Institute will be described, as well as leadership development that occurs through New Employee Orientation. Other learning opportunities focused on leadership will also be highlighted.

The forum will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in rooms 122/124 ATC beginning at 1:45 with a time for Coffee & Connect. The Forum/Presentation is 2:00 – 3:00.

Faculty & Staff Forum: “Know More!” A Safe and Secure Campus Environment

Officer Tony Myers will kick off the academic year with a conversation with faculty and staff about maintaining a safe and secure campus environment on September 23, 2009 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. in 129 Main- Enrollment Center.  A well informed community is an integral component in achieving that goal.

Officer Myers will cover topics including:

• The role of Campus Police in incident reports (Computer AUA violations and student complaints).
• The procedure for accessing buildings during off hours, especially during the holiday shutdown.
• The Tobacco-Free non-compliance policy  (since January, it was reported that Campus Police has issued 121 tobacco free non-compliance warnings).
• The measures are in place for classroom and office security.

All of this and more will be discussed at the Faculty and Staff Forum along with your questions and comments.
