Roads, parking meters to be closed for Carter events

With President Carter’s visit on Monday, parking around GRCC will be very tight as a result of roads and meters being closed for security reasons.

We recommend walking to the Carter events. If you or a member of your group is unable to make that walk, we recommend being dropped off. The student ramps will be full because of the large amount of faculty and staff attending the event, and meters on Lyon Street will be unavailable.

Bostwick Ramp Employee Entrance Closed

The staff entrance to the Bostwick Parking Ramp is scheduled to be closed from Aug. 11 to 14 for cleaning. Employees who park in Bostwick should use the Fountain Street entrance, at the bottom of the ramp, by taking a ticket. To exit, use the staff exit on the bottom level of the ramp using your raider card. Thank your patience and cooperation.

Spread the word about new parking options at GRCC

Encourage your students to explore parking ramp alternatives this fall.

Students can save time — and, in some cases, money — by using the DASH and College Avenue lot and shuttle, the DeVos lot and shuttle, or the Rapid and Silver Line bus.

Starting Aug. 25, students will be charged $3.50 per swipe in GRCC ramps and lots. If they sign up to use the DASH or the College Avenue lot by August 15, they get a 10 percent discount for the 2014-15 academic year! Click here to learn more.

The Rapids’ new Silver Line is scheduled to start August 25. Its features include:

  • running from 60th Street to GRCC in 30 minutes.
  • free Wi-Fi.
  • ticket vending at each station.
  • three-position bus bike racks.
