Staff Development has been offering some different classes this year geared around food and in the last few months a lot of employees have been having fun our culinary kitchens with Tara Rietsma and Josh Ferguson. Tara taught us about Cooking with Herbs and Breaking Down Beef Cuts.
Yesterday Josh shared with us Healthy Cooking on a Budget along with proper knife skills and how to properly butcher a chicken. These classes have been a lot of fun and filled with a lot of great recipes. Here are some photos from the class today. Thanks Tara and Josh for being so willing to educate us!
Melanie Schiele Gady’s Walking for Fitness Class takes field trip to Kent Trails. After learning about Cholesterol, what high cholesterol is, and how to lower your cholesterol the class walked 6 ½ miles. Do you know your Cholesterol numbers? Do you know that walking can help improve and lower your cholesterol as well as high blood pressure, diabetes, colon cancer, heart disease, stroke, and help prevent osteoporosis?
Physical activity also promotes higher self -esteem, higher productivity, and better cognitive function. Adults should be getting in 30-60 minutes of physical activity a day.
On Wednesday July 11th, Jodi Kuyt’s Yoga Class (WE 127) decided to head outside for class!
