Open leadership positions for students in CAB

Student Life and Conduct is looking for student leaders to apply for Campus Activities Board! Please pass on the message to students that would be great at it! This is a paid position and students get great “real-world” experience! CAB plans Homecoming, Finals Relaxers, the Leadership Banquet, and Welcome Weeks. We have 4 spots open: CAB President and 3 VP positions.

Interested students need to submit a one-page letter of intent as to “why you are interested in becoming a CAB E-board team member and for what role you’re interested in applying.” All letters should be sent to Thalia Guerra-Flores at thaliaguerraflores@grcc.edu by Tuesday, April 15.

Elections will take place April 19 from 1:15-2:15 p.m. If students are interested but unable to attend on the 19th, they should email Thalia Guerra-Flores (thaliaguerraflores@grcc.edu) to reschedule.

CAB invites GRCC staff, faculty, students, and families to join ‘Night at the YMCA’

GRCC, GVSU, and the YMCA once again will collaborate to provide FREE access to the YMCA for Night at the Y!

WHEN: This Saturday, January 26, from 7:30-11:00 p.m.

WHERE: 475 Lake Michigan Dr. NW

WHAT: Come and enjoy a night of fun with your families. Students are allowed to bring guests to the YMCA free of charge. Faculty and staff are also invited to bring their families to the event, at no cost as well. RaiderCards will be requested upon entry. Free food will be provided at the event. Sign up for Winter Involvement Day 2019

All registered student organizations and PENDING new student organizations are invited to participate in Winter Involvement Day 2019.

In previous years CAB has hosted a Welcome Week, but this year Homecoming will take its place for a week of events.

CAB to host GRCC Trunk-O-Treat on October 20

The GRCC Campus Activities Board is hosting a Trunk-O-Treat on Saturday, October 20, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on the top level of the Bostwick Parking Ramp! Bring your kids/siblings for candy, face painting, and to meet some special friends! Face painting is FREE to GRCC Students and $3 to Faculty and Staff.

CAB is also accepting volunteers/departments who would like to bring a car and decorate their trunk. CAB will supply the candy for those who provide a trunk.

CAB Welcomes Back Fall Students With Brown Bag Breakfasts

GRCC Campus Activities Board sponsored Raider Welcome, a morning snack offering to students on their first day of classes. CAB members and volunteers packed over 1,000 brown bag breakfasts. 500 bags were handed out at Main campus, 300 at DeVos Campus, and 200 at the Tassell M-TEC. The Lakeshore Campus also handed out baggies at Midtown and the Thompson M-TEC.

CAB would like to thank everyone for their willingness to volunteer and welcome our students back to campus!

Get involved with Involvement Day

Campus Activities Board would like to invite all GRCC student organizations and departments are invited to participate in Fall Welcome Week as part of Involvement Day. Departments and student organizations are encouraged to sign up and get a table for the event. Involvement Day will be held on Tuesday, September 4th, from 1-3 p.m. on the Bostwick Commons.

CAB Searching for Faculty/Staff Volunteers for August 7 event

Campus Activities Board (CAB) is looking for a few volunteers to help out with their campus event on Tuesday, August 7th.  CAB will be hosting a Summer BBQ on the Lyon Plaza from 12-2 p.m.  CAB will need 2 – 4 volunteers to help monitor our giant inflatable games (Twister and Darts).  Ideally CAB is looking for 2 volunteers to help out in 2 hour shifts.  Here are all of the available shifts:

Darts:

  • 12 – 1 p.m.
  • 1 – 2 p.m.

Twister:

  • 12 – 1 p.m.
  • 1 – 2 p.m.
