GRCC Welding crafts guitar sculpture as Metallica ‘thank you’

Dr. Pink, Julie Parks, and GRCC staff and families pose with Metallica guitarist James Hetfield has he hold the full-sized black metal guitar sculpture made by the GRCC Welding Dept.

Shout out to the Welding Department for creating a rock-worthy tribute to the band Metallica in thanks for the welding grant that they recently awarded to GRCC – our welding superstars made a full-size black metal guitar statue as thanks! The metal ‘guitar’ is engraved with the Metallica logo and the words “GRCC Welding.” Metallica guitarist James Hetfield, pictured above, is clearly delighted with the tribute.

Way to go, Welding Dept.!
