We have a class for everyone, from beginners to advanced. Relax and unwind or sweat it out and tone up with the variety of classes available!

As always, there’s no need to sign up in advance – just show up and see what the fun is all about. You are welcome to bring your spouse, child over 18, or friend(s) to these classes. Non-GRCC participants are asked to pay a small $20 fee per semester. All are welcome!

Recap: practical nursing students participate in Community Health Fair

GRCC Practical Nursing Students participated in a Community Health Fair at Porter Hills Village on Tuesday, April 16.

Students presented information about topics such as osteoarthritis, obstructive sleep apnea, eye disorders, hypertension, and diabetes. Residents were able to get their blood pressure and blood sugar levels checked, as well as engage with students by participating in the various activities.

Knowing what you’re putting in your body starts with being able to decipher the labels on food. We’ll look at which categories are of the most importance. We will also examine the front labels on foods and what they mean: ‘Organic?’ ‘Non-GMO?’ ‘Natural?’

Winter 2019 semester GRCC Employee Fitness Class schedule begins Monday!

Start the New Year off right doing something that makes your body smile on the outside AND inside!

The complete Winter 2019 schedule is available on the Group Exercise page of the GRCC website. All classes will meet in the newly renovated Ford Fieldhouse – come enjoy the upgraded workout space!

Schedule commences this Monday, January 7, 2019, and ends Friday, April 19, 2019. Classes will meet during spring break week, as well. We have a class for everyone, from beginners to advanced. Relax and unwind or sweat it out and tone up with the variety of classes available!

What you need to know about the Ford Field House opening

Ford Field House renovations are nearing completion and we’re looking forward to welcoming you all on opening day, January 3! On the arena level you’ll notice a new welcome center, dynamic images, new classrooms, and renovated offices and restrooms.

The lower level has been transformed into the new fitness center, locker room areas, and athletic training facilities. Nearly all equipment in the fitness center will be new, state-of-the-art equipment.

All active employees are eligible to use the fitness center, free of charge, by joining the Field House Health Club. Previous members are also being asked to complete a new membership application.

The application form is available on the Ford Field House website and can be submitted beginning December 17.

The Fitness Center will officially open on January 21!

A group of practical nursing students presented various health topics to seniors in the community this past Wednesday at the United Methodist Community House.

This event helped to educate the public about exercise, nutrition, blood pressure, diabetes, and macular degeneration.

Four free registrations available for 26th Annual Grand Rapids Turkey Trot 5K

There are 4 free registrations available for the Grand Rapids Turkey Trot, next Thursday, November 22. This event supports student achievement, while supporting after-school opportunities for the students of Grand Rapids Public Schools.
