Several West Michigan companies are looking for new workers, and they’re doing their hiring today in Grand Rapids and Ottawa County.
Grand Rapids Community College is holding its fall job fair today in the Wisner-Bottrall Applied Technology Center. That’s on Fountain Street northeast. Employers include Farmers Insurance, UPS, Spartan-Nash and JCPenney. GRCC students attending the fair are advised to dress professionally and bring copies of their resumes. The job fair is from 1 to 4 o’clock this afternoon.

Scotland has triumphed for a second time in the Nations Cup International Student Culinary Competition, thanks to a team from Glasgow.
… The three-day international cooking competition, hosted in Michigan by Grand Rapids Community College’s Secchia Institute for Culinary Education, was created in 2005 to support professional and cultural learning for tomorrow’s chefs.
