The APSS employee group and the Campus Police are collecting donations of new items through December 13 for a holiday gift to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. The final Friday for donations is this Friday, December 7, 2018.

Items needed:

  • Personal toiletries for men or women:
    • Toothbrushes
    • Soap
    • Body wash
    • Mouthwash
    • Deodorant
    • Cologne
  • Small lap blankets
  • 100-piece puzzles
  • Stationery sets

Donations will be accepted at the following locations:

  • Lt. Robert Decker (x3579) – Campus Police
  • Colleen Copus (x3119) – Math Tutorial Lab – Rm 105 – Cook Bldg.

Online Professional Development credit: “Vets on Campus”

Please set aside 45 minutes to complete the “Veterans on Campus” training found at the link below. Not only do you receive professional development, but GRCC could earn a $500 student veteran challenge grant to support a military-connected student.

As part of the Consortium of Michigan Veteran Educations (CMVE), we have access to this online training module focused on building military cultural competency. It is less than an hour in length and also includes other helpful resources guides. We encourage you to view the training. Rees Scholarship Foundation Awards $63,000
