GRCC Players plan 3 productions for 2022-2023

The GRCC players have planned the 2022-2023 season! All students — not just those majoring in Theater — are welcome to audition. You can find audition information online.

GRCC Players 2022-2023 Season. Fall Mainstage production. A Doll’s House, Part 2 by Lucas Hnath. Nov. 10, 2022-Nov. 12, 2023. In the final scene of Ibsen’s 1879 groundbreaking masterwork, Nora Helmer makes the shocking decision to leave her husband and children, and begin a life on her own. This climactic event – when Nora slams the door on everything in her life – instantly propelled world drama into the modern age. In A Doll’s House, Part 2, many years have passed since Nora’s exit. Now, there’s a knock on that same door. Nora has returned. But why? And what will it mean for those she left behind? Lab Theater production. Lobby Hero by Kenneth Longerean. Jan. 12, 2023-Jan. 14, 2023. When Jeff, a luckless young security guard, is drawn into a local murder investigation, loyalties are strained to the breaking point. As Jeff’s tightly wound supervisor is called to bear witness against his troubled brother, and an attractive rookie cop finds she must stand up to her seasoned partner, truth becomes elusive and justice proves costly. Winter Mainstage production. Kill Move Paradise by James Ijames. March 3, 2023-April 1, 2023. Four black men find themselves stuck in a waiting room for the afterlife. As they attempt to make sense of their new paradise. Isa, Daz, Grif, and Tiny are forced to confront the reality of their past, and how they arrived in this unearthly place. Inspired by the ever-growing list of slain black men and women, Kill Move Paradise illustrates the potential for collective transformation and radical acts of joy. All students welcome to audition!
