GRAND RAPIDS, MI — City Manager Greg Sundstrom wants help determining what qualities to seek in a new police chief. In addition to an online survey here, three public forums are scheduled this week and another is planned next week.
… Sundstrom on Tuesday, Feb. 18, also announced formation of a Police Chief Search Advisory Team including these people: Tom Almonte, assistant to the city manager; Christine Arnold, director of the Woodrick Diversity Learning Center at Grand Rapids Community College; restaurateur Johnny Brann, Jr.; Mari Beth Jelks, the city’s managing director of administrative services; Joe Jones, Grand Rapids Urban League president; Ralph Mason, retired Grand Rapids police lieutenant; Catherine Mish,city attorney.
