Ex-WMU star linebacker Ameer Ismail named defensive coordinator at Kalamazoo College

KALAMAZOO, MI – Ameer Ismail made a national name for himself by bursting into backfields at Western Michigan’s Waldo Stadium, and now the former All-American linebacker will be teaching his craft at nearby Kalamazoo College.

… After high school, he earned Scout Team Offensive Player of the Year honors at WMU, then transferred to Grand Rapids Community College and was an All-American linebacker for the Raiders, before returning to the Broncos, where he established himself as one of the best defenders in school history.
