MARQUETTE — First-year Northern Michigan University men’s basketball coach Bill Sall announces his first recruiting class. The group consists of six transfers and five true freshmen. Ethan Blackwell, Brandon Havercamp, Chavis Mattison, Alex Mustert, Justin Newell and Larry Taylor transfer into NMU. Joey Barnes, Dorrell Foster, Marcus Hall, Caleb Harrington and Wade Schetter join Brett Branstrom as the freshmen class.

… Mustert is a 6-7 forward/center from Grand Rapids, Mich. He played a season for Grand Rapids Community College (2012-13) and a season for the Calvin College JV team (2010-11). Mustert was named first team all-conference after appearing in 29 games a season ago, starting 28. He was second on the team, averaging 13.6 points per game and led the team in rebounds at 9.2 per contest. Mustert scored 20 points in eight games, including a season-high 25 at Kellogg Community College and a 21-point, 20-rebound game vs. Kellogg. He played in 15 games and started two at Calvin, scoring 6.9 points per game.
