Award-winning GRCC faculty member explains her teaching philosophy

The longtime Grand Rapids Community College psychology instructor wants all of her students to benefit from her class, whether it’s through new bonds formed with classmates or learning a new concept that helps them see the world in a new way.

Grand Rapids — Grand Rapids Community College will host a display of combat boots that women veterans have decorated to share their stories of military service on Sept. 5.

Nine MAC programs return starting QBs

Consistency at the quarterback position will be a key storyline among MAC programs this fall. Nine programs will enter the season with returning starting quarterbacks: Jordan Lynch (Northern Illinois), KeithWenning (Ball State), Tyler Tettleton (Ohio), Terrance Owens (Toledo), Matt Schilz (Bowling Green), Tyler Benz (Eastern Michigan), Mike Wegzyn (UMass), Tyler Van Tubbergen (Western Michigan) and Joe Licata (Buffalo).

… Only four programs will see a new starter under center — Akron, Central Michigan, Kent State and Miami.

… Central Michigan: Junior Cody Kater won the starting duties during training camp as CMU lost three-year starter Ryan Radcliff to graduation. Kater transferred from Grand Rapids Community College with two years of eligibility remaining.

… MLive.com: In case you missed the story on our website, new QB Cody Kater has completed his journey from Montague to Cincinnati to GRCC and now Central Michigan. Kater is looking forward to his first career start Saturday at Michigan.
