Restaurant Week GR 2018 beings in about two weeks, Aug. 8 to 19. … RWGR has provided more than $143,000 to students through an endowed scholarship fund at the GRCC Secchia Insititute for Culinary Education.

Festival Hispano de Grand Rapids celebra su 40 Aniversario del 10 al 12 de agosto

GRAND RAPIDS: Celebremos juntos nuestra Cultura en el Festival Hispano de Grand Rapids 2018, el cual conmemora su 40 Aniversario. La fiesta se llevará a cabo del 10 al 12 de agosto en el Calder Plaza. Habrá comida, música en vivo, bebidas, artesanías, baile, información  y por supuesto, mucha diversión para toda la familia.
… El domingo, se contara con la presentación del Mariachi Oro y Plata para cerrar con broche de oro el evento. Asimismo, se llevarán a cabo las graduaciones de 75 jóvenes que atendieron el programa de verano del Centro Hispano. Durante ocho semanas estudiantes de secundaria y preparatoria realizaron varias actividades como visitas a universidades y diferentes lugares de trabajo para averiguar  cuál es el próximo paso después de concluir con su educación media. Los programas fueron diferentes para los estudiantes de secundaria y para los de preparatoria, por ejemplo para estos últimos hubo un mayor enfoque en averiguar sobre la fuerza laboral que hay disponible y las materias de enfoque fueron: matemáticas, ingeniería y ciencia. Además, se les llevo de visita a diferentes universidades como Grand Valley State, Western, Grand Rapids Community College, Michigan State y la Universidad de Michigan, agregó la entrevistada.
