College students quilts warm cancer patients

Schoolcraft men’s cagers moving on from NJCAA ruling

Schoolcraft College’s men’s basketball team continues to feel the sting of getting slapped with the forfeiting of six November and December victories, stemming from a clerical error involving a player who had transferred from an out-of-state college.

… The forfeited games include: Nov. 4 vs. Jackson College, Nov. 7 vs. Grand Rapids Community College, Nov. 8 vs. Lorain County Community College (OH), Nov. 11 vs. Lake Michigan College, Nov. 14 vs. Cuyahoga Community College (OH), and Dec. 5 vs. Owens Community College (OH).

Technology notification: TechSmith screen capture and recording software available

GRCC has purchased a site license for TechSmith Camtasia Studio and Snagit, which means that all faculty and staff will now have complete access to these two applications. We also have made available the upgraded version of the Techsmith Relay Recorder. For Microsoft Windows users, the installs are available in the Software Center. Instructions for accessing the Software Center are included below. For Mac users and non-GRCC issued computers, the installs are available upon request through IT Customer Support at ITHELP@grcc.edu or 234-HELP. Listed below are brief descriptions of each program. In addition, TechSmith provides great step by step instruction on how to use all of these products at https://www.techsmith.com/tutorial.html.

TechSmith Relay Recorder:

A desktop recorder that records and sends your video recordings to one or more hosting sites. With TechSmith Relay Recorder, you can capture and publish your recording anytime, anywhere, in the classroom, in the conference room, at your desk, or at home. TechSmith Relay supports a wide variety of video formats allowing any lecture or presentation to be viewed by your audience on multiple devices.

Camtasia Studio & Camtasia for Mac:

After capturing a presentation in the TechSmith Relay Recorder, Camtasia Studio & Camtasia for Mac can be used to modify audio and video displayed as tracks by using the timeline control and object library interface with an integrated preview window. In addition, they allow for voice overlay for the presenter or editor, as well as the ability to add sound effects in many different formats including music formats into the clip bin and arrange anywhere on the timeline.

Snagit:

A screen shot program that captures video display and audio output. Snagit’s tools allow you to grab an image or create a quick video of anything on your computer screen.
