Jan. 17, 2016; MLive

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — As you enjoy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, consider taking some time to remember the man and his legacy behind the holiday.

… Grand Rapids Community College

Make history! Kick off another 25 years of ‘Incredible Edible’ cookoff success

Jan. 15, 2016; MLive

History happens in the kitchen as much as in the halls of government.

… As the years went by, contestants needed more from the Grand Rapids Community College culinary arts division kitchen, where the contest is held. First it was a microwave oven, then a grill. Blenders gave way to food processors, all reflecting food preparation techniques for a faster pace of life and increasingly cosmopolitan tastes.

A woman smiles

Victoria Powers

On Tuesday, January 19, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Student Center’s Multi-Purpose Room, we will have a meet and greet for the new director of the TRIO/Student Support Services Program: Victoria “Vicky” Powers.   Stop by, meet Vicky and enjoy some delicious hors d’oeuvres.

The TRIO/Student Support Services is a program designed to work with students who are first generation college students and who meet federal income guidelines. Our goal is to help support student success at GRCC and assist in transfer to a four-year college/university. The program has been serving students at Grand Rapids Community College for over 35 years.
